Frequently Asked Questions

1. The software doesn't seem to work on my system. What should I do?
Please check if you have all the necessary dependencies installed (see Documentation). If you still have trouble running the software please contact us so we can help you out.

2. How do I decide whether to use Nrp2Path or RiPP2Path?
When you detect a peptide mass-spectrometrically, you may not know whether it is a ribosomally or nonribosomally synthesized peptide. The presence of NRP-specific nonproteinogenic amino acids may sometimes help, while longer peptides are often RiPPs. Still, in some cases you may not be able to know until you identify the gene cluster responsible for the biosynthesis of the peptide. In such cases, it is recommended to run both programs and see which one results in the identification of a high-probability candidate gene cluster.
